Zeit Contemporary Art is delighted to participate in Art Miami 2023, the oldest-running art fair at the core of Miami Art Week and one of the most attended fairs internationally. For this edition, ZCA presents a focused selection of modern, postwar, and contemporary works by Georg Baselitz, Amoako Boafo, Eduardo Chillida, Sonia Delaunay, Ellsworth Kelly, Jeff Koons, Yayoi Kusama, Sol LeWitt, Robert Mangold, Pablo Picasso, and Andy Warhol. Across painting, sculpture, drawing, and printmaking, the presentation reflects ZCA’s interest in artists who expanded the language of form, color, image, and material presence.
A central point of the presentation is an exceptional 1922 drawing by Pablo Picasso, installed with particular prominence within the booth. Created during the artist’s neoclassical period, the work anchors the presentation in the modern tradition of drawing as a language of structure, clarity, and historical memory. This dialogue with the figure continues through a set of four drawings by Georg Baselitz, whose expressive, fractured treatment of the body brings postwar intensity into conversation with Picasso’s reinvention of classical form. Together, these works trace an arc from modern figuration to the psychological force of late twentieth-century drawing.
The presentation also includes a vibrant wall bringing together works by Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Yayoi Kusama, and Amoako Boafo, artists who transformed popular imagery, repetition, portraiture, and surface into highly recognizable visual languages. Warhol frames Pop as a field of glamour, media, devotion, and desire, while Koons extends mass culture into playful spectacle. Kusama’s pumpkin condenses pattern and obsession into a compact emblem, and Boafo’s portraiture offers a contemporary reflection on Black subjectivity, presence, and visibility. Alongside works by Delaunay, Kelly, LeWitt, Mangold, and Chillida, ZCA’s presentation brings together artists who redefine abstraction, figuration, and the experience of looking across generations.
