Art Miami 2022
Booth AM221
Zeit Contemporary Art is honored to participate in Art Miami 2022 with a presentation of modern, postwar, and contemporary works spanning painting, sculpture, photography, and printmaking. Bringing together artists including Anni and Josef Albers, John Chamberlain, Philip Guston, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Ellsworth Kelly, Yayoi Kusama, Roy Lichtenstein, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Jonas Wood, the booth reflects ZCA’s interest in artists who expanded the possibilities of image, object, color, and material form. Across these works, the presentation moves between Pop, abstraction, figuration, design, and the vitality of works on paper.
One section explores the legacy of Pop and its transformation across generations. Warhol’s paintings, screenprints, and Polaroids are presented alongside works by Lichtenstein, Haring, Kusama, Hirst, and Jonas Wood, tracing how artists have reworked popular imagery, repetition, iconography, and desire into distinct visual languages. From Lichtenstein’s Pop syntax to Haring’s final Icons portfolio, Kusama’s obsessive patterning, Hirst’s butterflies and spot paintings, and Wood’s botanical prints, the presentation shows how immediacy, surface, and recognition can become vehicles for reflection on mortality, pleasure, memory, and contemporary life.
A further section considers structure, color, material, and gesture through works by Anni and Josef Albers, Ellsworth Kelly, Sol LeWitt, John Chamberlain, Picasso, Matisse, Guston, Torres-García, and Valdés. The Alberses, Kelly, and LeWitt investigate perception through geometry, seriality, and color, while Chamberlain transforms industrial metal into a sculptural field of rhythm and force. Picasso, Matisse, Guston, Torres-García, and Valdés connect the modern figure, line, and historical memory across the twentieth century. Across these dialogues, ZCA’s Art Miami 2022 presentation brings together works that redefine form, image, and the experience of looking.
